Lake Toba is a volcanic lake of 100km x 30km in North Sumatra, Sumatra, Indonesia. In the center there is a volcanic island called the island. Lake Toba has been an important tourist destination in North Sumatra and Nias Bukit Lawang, attract domestic and foreign tourists. Lake Toba is expected formed from the explosion which was occurred at about 73000-75000 years ago and an eruption. The expert estimates that the volcanic materials spewed out of the mountain as much as 2800km3, with 800km3 2000km3 rocks and volcanic ash overlies the west wind is expected for 2 weeks.
This incident caused a mass death and the extinction of some species. According to the research, this eruption also reduced the number of about thousands humans. After the eruption, the caldera was formed and then filled with water and became what is now known as Lake Toba.
In the middle of Lake Toba there is a volcanic island called Naidoo Island. It is located at an altitude of approximately 1,000 meters above sea level. In the middle of the island, there are two beautiful lake named Sidihoni Lake and Aek Natonang Lake. The area around Lake Toba is rounded by pine forests of lush landscaped.
On the shores of Lake Toba, there are some of very stunning waterfalls. On the outskirts of Lake Toba there is an attraction called Tanjung Unta. Around the Lake Toba, visitors will find sulfur water baths which are believed that it is useful to nourish the skin.

In the main island, there are accommodations to the city of Parapat. Parapat are a small and rocky peninsula protruding into the lake. On the way to Parapat, visitors will see spectacular scenery.
